Ali Rheaume is an award-winning artist who began painting after sustaining a Traumatic Brain Injury. She is a Franklin resident and member of the Franklin Art Association, along with being the owner of her own art business called Embracing Unique. Her main work is “painting things that are important to people” in watercolor, whereas someone will give her a photo of importance, and she will create a watercolor painting of it – a house, pets, a wedding moment, family photos, and more. Ali also specializes in beautiful sepia tone art that’s painted with her own handmade black walnut ink, foraged in Franklin.
In addition to art, Ali is also the author and illustrator of the children’s book “Buddy the Brain”. She is a global public speaker and an accessibility specialist as the owner of one99 Accessibility Consulting. Ali serves on the Brain Injury Council of Massachusetts, the Franklin Commission on Disability, and the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators’ Education and Collaborative on Children’s Brain Injury Committees. She hosts “Rise Up”, an in-person social hour for individuals navigating life with disability, and “Life After Concussion”, a virtual growth mindset group to help regain life after concussion. Ali’s mission in life is to multiply hope and help make the world a more inclusive, accessible place.
