Kim Gorrasi will be the featured artist at the March 6th Franklin Art Association meeting. Meetings begin at 6:30 OM and are held at the Franklin Senior Center. All are welcome. In her demonstration, Kim will guide us through the fundamentals of portrait painting. She is well known in her field of portrait painting and has exhibited widely. Franklin High School Student Art Exhibit at “Escape Into Fiction” Bookstore

Munson Included in Unexpected Treasures Show
Artists, Margaret (Peg) Munson, Member News, ShowsFranklin Art Association member Peg Munson has had two pastel paintings accepted into the Unexpected Treasures small works juried exhibition at the Morini Gallery in Mansfield. The show is from December 3rd to 28th. There will be a brunch reception on December 23rd from 11 to 1 PM.

Watercolor Artist Carlie DeGaetano at October FAA Meeting
Member News, NewsThe Franklin Art Association will hold its meeting on Wednesday, October 4th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Franklin Senior Center.
The featured artist is Carlie DeGaetano who will do a watercolor painting demonstration. Carlie resides in Blackstone and spends most days painting or teaching painting at the Medway Senior Center. Her medium of choice is watercolor, but she also paints in acrylic and water soluble oils. She paints in a loose free style with lots of color. Her work can be seen at www.etsy.com/shop/CarlottasArt.

Sue Sheridan Presenting at the FAA September 6th Meeting
Events, Meetings, NewsThe Franklin Art Association will have their first meeting of the season on Wednesday, September 6th, at 6:30 PM at the Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill Street, Franklin, MA (directions). Programs are free and open to the public. This month’s program will feature artist Sue Pratt Sheridan, who will demonstrate the use of many different types of mediums with a slide presentation of artwork, including oils, watercolors, pastels, charcoal and mixed media. The unique qualities of each medium will be discussed, questions answered and encouragement given to explore new ways to create art! Sue holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UMass Amherst, and has been a practicing artist for most of her life.

Let’s Paint Together! Paint-in, Saturday March 18th
Activities, EventsThe last paint-in was so successful, we’ve scheduled another one on March 18th, 10:15 – 1:00 PM at Escape into Fiction bookstore, 12 Main Street, Franklin. Parking available in back of the bookstore.
Bring your own resource material or paint from a still life set up. Tables, chairs, still life set up and drop clothes will be provided.

ArchiveThe Franklin Art Association’s January 4th meeting will feature a demonstration by Katie Kindilian.
Katie Kindilien grew up in Norwalk, CT and currently lives in New Haven. She received her undergraduate degree in painting from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. A year spent studying in Rome became a lifelong inspiration to paint and travel and study art from around the world. She received her Masters in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University and taught elementary and middle school art in New Haven for 25 years. Along the way Katie has continued painting, traveling, and studying with wonderful artists and teachers such as Julian Merrow-Smith, Stephanie Birdsall and Paul Foxton.
Katie was an Artist in Residence at the Art Association of Nantucket. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art associations throughout New England, including Manhattanville College and the Essex Art Association.
