Gail Eckberg Gail enjoys painting land and seascapes on location. As a seasoned, world traveler, has been an artist-in-resident in Cuba, France, Puerto Pico, Latvia, (where the Cecis Museum holds one of her works) and she is planning another artist residency in Ireland. Eckberg also paints a variety of other subjects inspired by color, shape, light, and compositional balance. Art workshops take her to many domestic sites as well. Her work has been sold here and abroad, held in private and public collections. ECKBERG'S artist statement: As a multi-media, teaching artist, Eckberg says it is the possibility of painting a location's intangibles, the combination of atmosphere, temperature, light, color, mood, rhythm and/or the 'moment', which lures her as an artist. Having a block of painting time, to capture what may be gone soon, in this disintegrating and ever-changing, landscaped earth, is a treasure.
