Artist Gallery: Karole Nicholson

I have painted exclusively in pastel for over 15 years. The New England landscape is my preferred subject, however I am equally passionate about painting florals. Master studies, participation in national juried exhibitions, gallery representation and a commitment to regular studio time keep my focused on my development as an artist.

For over 40 years, Karole has explored various expressive mediums including ceramics, collage, watercolor, acrylics, oils and hanging sculpture.  In 2001, she took her first pastel class and discovered the medium that would speak to her like no other.

Karole attended Rhode Island School of Design studying graphic and advertising design.  She has studied pastel technique from internationally acclaimed artists and her award winning work has appeared in many solo and group shows throughout New England.

Karole is a member of the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Connecticut Pastel Society, New Hampshire Pastel Society, the Attleboro Arts Museum and the Foxboro and Franklin Art Associations.  She teaches and consults as requested on art projects and exhibitions.
