Bruce Wood is a painter and avant-garde film maker whose works have been featured at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and The Museum of Modern Art (Beaubourg) in Paris. His paintings are contemporary versions of academic impressionist techniques. They combine modern color theory with traditional subjects (landscapes & seascapes) and a strong sense of visual rhythm.
Bruce studied at Massachusetts College of Art (BFA), and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (MFA). In 1988 he founded the art publishing company AFA Press with his artist mother, Angelina Wood, creating fine art editions of their own art and for several nationally-known artists. For almost two decades he operated the Fenway Galleries in Chicago and Lakeside, Michigan before moving back to Massachusetts. He is now the director of The Woodshed Gallery in Franklin.
Bruce Wood’s prints and paintings are in many collections, including the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, and the Rockford Art Museum in Illinois. Learn more about Bruce Wood’s paintings and films at www.BruceWoodArtist.com
