Franklin Cultural District Proposed

The Town of Franklin has been asked to take necessary steps to create a State-designated Cultural District in Franklin; the area would include many of the Towns’ cultural resources and involvement of all cultural organizations and artists will be very important.  The Department of Planning and Community Development has been working with Allan Mercer and others to prepare a State application for the Cultural District. One of the more important aspects of the proposed cultural district is its management.  Cultural Districts require a District Committee or similar management structure in order for it to be designated by the State.

A meeting has been scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on March 20th at the Franklin Public Library to discuss the proposed Cultural District, management structure, and related issues.
